SU Qld 2008 - 2010
My full time employment as IT Development Coordinator at SU Qld has included working on a number of diverse projects.
Poached from my previous role at SM2, I came on board at SU to help them consolidate their online presence, improve their engagement with people through the web and build applications that help staff right across Queensland get their work done.
Along with maintaining the thirty-sum web sites and applications, I also took on the task of coordinating the tender for network and communications systems and services at SU's newly renovated building in Fortitude Valley.
This included specification of SU's needs and an extensive negotion process to find the right partners, with the right products, at the right price.
Currently I am helping SU consolidate all their websites into a single Content Management System that is integrated with their CRM. The goal is to give staff greater control and less duplication of information - and with the CRM now in-place, SU is already seeing the benefits.
Musicadium 2007 - 2008
Partway through working at SM2 some of the team banded together to work on a side-project focused on liberating independent music in Australia.
My role in this project was to marry the underlying code, developed by SM2's Technical Director, with the visual design, created by SM2's Creative Director. I helped further the design and the code in order to make it as easy for artists to use as possible.
I also worked on an in-house project to automate the process of ripping artist's CD's and readying the tracks, their meta-data and artwork for upload to the iTunes Music Store.
Olympus 2007
The Australian division of the Olympus Camera Company approached SM2 to build a custom Joomla! component that could manage their ongoing portfolio of products.
Based on a visuals designed by another company, I built the Joomla! template and developed the custom components and plugins enabling Olympus staff to quickly add new products.
Colour-swatches, "NEW" badges and thumbnails are all generated by the custom component, so staff have less work to do in order to release a new product.
Kindalogical 2002 - 2005
While studying a dual Diploma/Bachelor of Multimedia at the University of Southern Queensland a friend of mine and I started a small business under the guise "Kindalogical".
